Truly Amazing

The word change is an innocuous, simple, almost obvious word which, whether we like it or not, is confronted with the effects of day in and day out in our lives.

Behind the simplicity lies naivety in the fact that the change process is not a linear transaction but one which is part of the laws of evolution.

So what?

If we are not ultimately aware of the process of change and the reticence of most to embrace this process, then we can, by default, entrench ourselves in a thinking process involving change, which is counter-intuitive to what and how we survive and grow with this uneasy bedfellow.

Let me be precise.

Spending many hours engaging with senior business leaders of all ages and their teams, it would appear that the change process has and is becoming a burden through its onerous time demands.

In worse case examples, often stalling business decisions and derailing the change process that needs to happen in line with all the other day-to-day activities, which need to continue for survival and growth.

Using Brexit as an example.

To even consider that the process of divorcing ourselves from the European Union, whether right or wrong, good or bad, can be achieved within 2 years is, I believe, somewhat naive, considering the length of our marriage and the complexity of the compromise.

However, to survive this process, whether in or out, requires this to be considered the new norm, which involves challenging our thinking, attitudes, beliefs and outcomes where all change, no matter how painful, must be regarded as a positive for human beings and businesses alike.

How often do I hear the immortal words?

“Michael, I would love to take a new initiative to grow my business. To consider new thinking, attitudes and beliefs. To create a new working platform and performance criteria in line with becoming ‘Truly Amazing’. To give me and my team a competitive advantage.

However, I am so tied up with all the structural, budgetary, planning and other such perceived restrictions counter-intuitive to change that I have little time even to consider what I should be doing, apart from focusing on reacting to the process called change”.

Human beings find change challenging.

Change requires exploring and understanding personal vulnerability, without which change does not happen

Compromise is a point in question as it requires vulnerability, truth and, importantly, belief in one’s self that no matter what happens, although uncomfortable, change is like a growth hormone and is a very natural and normal part of personal and corporate development.

So, what is all the fuss about?

Change is happening all around, whether good, bad or indifferent, depending on your belief systems. We cannot stop change nor control it - it happens despite us.

To master the art of change, we need to recognise and embrace our vulnerability, allowing us to exercise compromise and exceptional leadership.

New leaders must boldly lead us into the unknown, not based on definitive, well-trodden paths of success but opportunity and expectation where the impossible becomes possible and ‘Truly Amazing’ becomes the new mantra for improved performance for individuals, teams, and corporations.

New Leaders

I believe there is a need for a UK business revolution where leaders find their voice and true power by leading in a counter-intuitive way too much of their teachings and learnings of the past years.

A method where individuals, teams and corporates become ‘Truly Amazing’ and outperform significantly their limiting expectations in a ‘Truly Amazing’ way.

If you want to understand more about how to be ‘Truly Amazing’ and perform well above the average in this unpredictable world and marketplace where the impossible is possible and change is the norm, please get in touch.
