I find it immensely pleasing that, at long last, those who hide behind technical competence and prowess, combined with longevity in their chosen career path, have to confront or be confronted by the stark reality that knowing one’s subject is no substitute for competent inspirational leadership at all levels.
Growth of 10% plus per annum
I spend my life travelling from company to company.
I am amazed at the woeful lack of understanding and competence in all aspects of leadership with company leaders, ignoring the very principles of human performance, instead, going for growth of 10% plus per annum by driving their senior teams into the 24/7 mentality to attain the percentage growth that has been promised to the shareholders.
I am pleased to say that there is an “awakening” where the possibilities of driving the workforce harder and piggybacking off new technologies and opportunities are slowing down.
Welcome to the era of technical competence combined with outstanding leadership, which, I genuinely believe, if made a priority at the top, will create a more sustainable and profitable enterprise for shareholders, Directors and work teams alike.
The day of the leadership imposter is over!
Good leadership is a mixture of learnt skills, competency training, and empathy with the human race, which, combined with an innovative product and a well-thought-through strategy, will make a difference for those who value people foremost in their planning.
Change your thinking, and you change the outcome!
The era of the new inspirational leader is upon us for anyone out there who might be interested in doing it differently, and not as often is the case of taking the top position and creating havoc in the name of change.
Inspirational leaders are not born
They are developed, trained, nurtured, and, above all, valued more highly than some of the technical expertise and competence disguised as a form of leadership and fail to deliver change management at all levels.
Having seen the need to address this issue, I developed a model based on Golf, which clearly shows the performance improvements that can be made immediately with this form of inspirational leadership.
I have pitted this against the technical leadership competency model that is most prevalent in this and other sports.
The results are astounding!
The “Golf Ball doesn’t lie”, the improved results without technical know-how, can be seen immediately.
