Put the “great” back into Britain
Post Brexit, all I hear in the media is that we are doomed! Everyone who didn’t vote for Brexit seems to be projecting tales of gloom, doom and pending disaster.
Self-fulfilling
We will become a self-fulfilling prophecy if enough of us fail to get behind the quest to create a more dynamic, independent, and results-focused country.
We must work with our neighbours but not rely on them in totality. Our responsibility should be to create a country that is fit for purpose in this ever-changing world and learn how to use our nation’s great talents in a more focused, collaborative and results-orientated fashion.
Who knows, one day, if we are determined, we may even be able to call ourselves ‘Great Britain’ again.
Reinvention
This mighty quest for our country’s reinvention will require our leaders to become enablers, our companies to become learning organisations and our people to become comfortable with aspiring to use knowledge that we currently do not know, understand or have experience with!
An environment for our leaders and our country to think and act differently. Only the unexpected will be classed as innovative, and opportunities will be created by breaking the limiting paradigms allowed to enter our country’s psyche.
Be different
Breaking this form of malaise as a result of believing that others can do and will do it better than we can take energy, enthusiasm, purpose and passion.
Something as a Nation we used to pride ourselves in!
So, rise all you budding leaders, but we warned!
Don’t even dare to attempt to lead this country using old attitudes, thought processes, systems and worn-out thinking.
Britain is seeking the great, not in the form of an individual but as a collective.
Let’s bring the ‘Great’ back to Britain by creating the hunger and environment which, combined with exceptional leadership, vision, creativity and expectation, will once more make this nation great!
